The center of it all

Originally chartered in 1798 when established as the county seat, Wentworth became the area’s youngest town with the reactivation of its charter in 1998. Located in the geographic center of the county, Wentworth is the hub of governmental activity including the County Courthouse, the Governmental Center, and offices for municipal, state, and federal agencies. It is also home to Rockingham Community College and a number of historical and cultural attractions including the Wright Tavern and the Museum and Archives of Rockingham County.
